What is the Perseverance Trust Coronavirus Bursary?
The King's Perseverance Trust Coronavirus Bursary is intended to help pre-registration nursing students in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care, who have to extend their programme of study due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and who are in financial hardship.
The scheme is now open and will accept applications until the deadline of 6th September 2021.
Who can receive support?
The scheme will provide pre-registration nursing students with support of up to £500 towards the following:
- Help meet accommodation costs while on your programme extension
- Help with living costs while on your programme extension
The fund is open to home, overseas and EU students on the following pre-registration programmes:
- BSc/ MSc Nursing with Registration as an Adult Nurse
- BSc/ MSc Nursing with Registration as a Children’s Nurse
- BSc/ MSc Nursing with Registration as a Mental Health Nurse
- BSc Midwifery with Registration as a Midwife
Students who have previously been awarded from the King’s Coronavirus Financial Assistance Fund, and/or King’s Hardship Fund may still apply.
When reviewing your application, we will take into account your household income, which you would have submitted as part of your 2020-21 Student Finance England application.
Please also be aware that due to the limited funds available, not all applicants will be successful in their applications for funds.
Students should expect to receive an outcome after 23rd September 2021.
