Description of Job Duties

Student workers report directly to the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Multicultural Affairs. Student workers work closely with the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Multicultural Affairs and other members of the Cardinal Safe Zone steering committee to complete necessary tasks for the administration of the Cardinal Safe Zone Program. 

 

Responsibilities include general clerical and office support, assisting with projects, and data entry. 

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to: 

 

• Exhibit knowledge about the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Cardinal Safe Zone Program 

• Answer questions from faculty, staff and students about associated programming and initiatives 

• Perform clerical tasks such as maintaining files and making copies 

• Update and maintain web pages 

• Perform website research 

• Assist in managing social media presence such as Facebook and Twitter 

• Create advertisements and marketing strategies for programs 

• Track interest in and attendance to workshops 

• Keeping forms and applications stocked at all times; making copies when needed 

• Entering data properly/efficiently 

• Utilizing your unique skills, interests, and expertise to make new contributions to Cardinal Safe Zone 

• Assist with various projects

Job Qualifications

Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities described below or are able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. 

• Ability to accurately process and organize information and data within prescribed time frames. Ability to deal with a number of tasks concurrently, in an environment when interruptions are routinely experienced, at times without direct supervision. This requires a person who is well organized, detail oriented, flexible and able to efficiently establish priorities. 

• Ability to apply general secretarial skills such as typing, creation and maintenance of files, and the use of business-oriented computer systems, including word processing, database management and spreadsheets. 

• Ability to consistently demonstrate excellent student service and interpersonal skills in dealing with persons both internal and external to the College, both in person, electronically, and on the telephone. Ability to work effectively as a member of a staff where cooperation and team work are essential. 

• Ability to communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing, in a manner which will reflect positively on the College.
